Beadmaking typically uses glasses like borosilicate, moretti, bullseye, and spectrum 96 to wind a ribbon of molten glass onto a steel mandrel that has been prepped with a bead release so the glass won't stick to the mandrel.  The glass is then shaped and decorated in a number of different ways ~ the possibilities are limitless!  Enjoy the studio pics below.

Beads need to be annealed in the kiln, otherwise they tend to crack.
